It sadness me a great deal when I realize the fact that a great deal of the music that is made in Iran, especially the underground music scene in Iran will never be heard and get the recognition it deserves. Amazing artists and their great music will all go to waste. that sadness me so much, I can hardly put it into words. Even a great majority of Iranians can’t hear them, the radios in Iran don’t play underground music, underground artists are not recognized, their faces unknown, that’s sad. Anywhere else they would have been superstars.
You know history is repeating itself in Iran, in a way. same thing happened with early Iranian female singers back in 1920’s and early 30’s, when it was a taboo for a women to sing in public. Many talented Iranian female artists recorded albums under false names. Many of those early album-recording Iranian female artists are now unknown, if not completely forgotten. we only have their amazing voice and a pseudonym. We don’t know who they really were, when they were born, when did they die. nothing.
It’s sad that it’s happening again. so much talent wasted. it’s heartbreaking.
